You’ve probably heard of Pi Day, celebrated each year on March 14 (aka 3.14), but what about the Day of the Dozens? Yeah, we hadn’t either. But apparently it’s an annual thing at Krispy Kreme, and it’s today: December 12th, or 12/12. Here’s what to know about the doughnut-related festivities, including how to get a dozen for $1.
How to get a dozen doughnuts for $1
In order to take advantage of the Day of the Dozens special, roll into any participation Krispy Kreme location in the United States (tip: none of the locations in Connecticut are participating) or Canada today (Saturday, December 12). When you purchase any dozen doughnuts at regular price, you can get an additional dozen of Krispy Kreme’s Original Glazed® doughnuts for $1.
The offer is available for takeout, drive-thru or dine-in—but isn’t valid when you order online. If you’re not sure what to get for your first dozen and are in the holiday spirit, there is currently a limited-time collection of doughnuts featuring a Christmas tree, wrapped present and what appears to be Santa’s abdomen.
The Day of the Dozens offer is limited to two per customer. This way you can buy one dozen for yourself, and give a dozen to a friend. (Or keep both of them for yourself—we’re not judging.) For more information on the made-up holiday or this offer, visit the Krispy Kreme website.
