Today is National Get Outdoors Day, and while we typically don’t need to be reminded to go outside, after more than a year stuck inside during a global pandemic, it’s easy to forget that’s an option. If you’re looking for a fun (and relaxing) way to spend time outdoors and have some unused vacation days, you may be interested in a contest where 10 winners will be given a $4,000 travel stipend to rent a lake house. Here’s what to know.

What to know about the contest

Even if “rent a lake house” is on your summer wish list, not everyone is in a financial position to do that. But Wisconsin-based beer makers Leinenkugel’s is giving 10 people travel stipends to live out the Midwestern summer fantasy they didn’t know they had, and spend time in a house near a lake.

The contest is called “Docs for Docks” referring to swapping streaming documentaries indoors for spending more time outside—preferably somewhere with docks. Ten people will win a $4,000 travel stipend to rent a lake house, while another 500 people will win a $10 Visa gift card (which is technically supposed to be for the purchase of a six-pack of Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy, but no one will know if you spend it on something else).

How to enter

In order to enter, you must be at least 21 years of age and a resident of the United States. Then fill out this form, consisting of your email address and a “keyword.” Your keyword corresponds with the approximate total hours of online videos you streamed in 2020:

  • PREMIERE = 0-10 Hours

  • SEASON2 = 11-20 Hours

  • MARATHON = 21-40 Hours

  • FINALE = 41+ Hours

After that, you’ll be prompted to add other contact information. You must enter by 11:59:59 pm CT on June 23, 2021. Then, on or about June 24, 2021, 10 winners will be randomly selected for the travel stipend. Here’s the full set of rules, terms, and conditions.
