As you may have heard, Tuesday, Nov. 3 is Election Day. Maybe you’ve already voted by mail or stood in line to hit the polls early, or perhaps you’re gearing up to cast your ballot on the day itself. Regardless of your chosen method, a bunch of companies are offering Election Day deals and freebies as a way to encourage people to participate in the Democratic process (and get some publicity).

Here’s what to know about offers on everything from transportation to your polling location, to free doughnuts for stress eating.

Transportation

Not everyone has a car and/or access to public transit (or if they do, they may not feel comfortable taking it right now), so here are some other ways to make it to the polls.

Uber

The ride-share app is offering 50% off roundtrip rides to and from the polls (up to $7 each trip or up to $14 for two trips). It also applies on bikes and scooters. More information and terms/conditions here. They also have an in-app feature to help you find your voting location.

Lyft

On Election Day, Lyft is offering 50% off one ride up to $10 to any polling location or dropbox using the code 2020VOTE, including their bikes and scooters in select cities. The code is valid on November 3, 2020 between the hours of 4am - 11pm local time.

Hertz

Get a free day of rental when you book 2+ days from one of Hertz’s neighborhood (i.e. non-airport) locations with the promo code #210350. To take advantage of this, you have to pick up the rental on Monday (11/2) or Tuesday (11/3) and your booking has to be between two and 28 days. One-way rentals are excluded. The bookings have to be made at least 24 hours in advance, so time’s ticking.

Food

Technically, you could plan ahead and line up an entire free day of meals and snacks for Election Day. We’re not suggesting that you do that, but it’s possible.

Baked by Melissa

From Oct. 24 through Nov. 3, Baked by Melissa will offer customers who voted 10% off their purchase at all store locations. Customers can either show their official “I voted” sticker or simply tell the associate that they voted to receive the discount.

Bobo’s

On November 3, Bobo’s is offering 2,000 free nutrition bars for those who voted, all they have to do is provide their basic information and a photo of their “I Voted” sticker to get a coupon.

Boston Market

Get one free slider from 9 p.m. to close at all Boston Market locations nationwide on Tues., Nov. 3, with no purchase necessary. The options include a Chicken Cheddar, Turkey Cheddar, Chicken Chipotle or BBQ Meatloaf sliders.

Enlightened

Mention the word “vote” and tag @eatenlightened on Instagram stories on Election Day and Enlightened will send you a coupon for free ice cream. They will also randomly select one person to win a year’s worth of free Enlightened desserts.

Door Dash

DoorDash will provide free delivery on all orders with a $15 minimum placed on Tuesday, Nov. 3, nationwide with promo code “VOTE.” For DashPass subscribers who already have $0 delivery fees on orders over $12, DoorDash is providing 10% off, up to $5, on orders with a $12 minimum that are placed on 11/3 with the code DPVOTE. Customers can enter the codes at checkout to redeem the promotion. Both offers valid through 11:59 pm PT on Nov. 3, or while supplies last.

GrubHub/Seamless

The food delivery services will offer multiple Election Day deals. Just tap the Perks tab in the app to find out what’s available in your area. If nothing else, there’s a growing list of restaurants offering free delivery on order of $15 or more, including 7-Eleven, Boston Market, BurgerFi, Clean Juice, Del Taco, Luna Grill, and On the Border.

Jimmy John’s

The sandwich shop is offering BOGO 50% off 8-inch or 16-inch sandwiches through Nov. 8. Use the promo code “SAVEON2" at checkout to get the deal online or via their app.

Krispy Kreme

Anyone can roll into a Krispy Kreme location on Tuesday and get a free glazed doughnut—even without an “I voted” sticker. In fact, they’ll give you a sticker if you weren’t able to get one at your polling place. Plus, tomorrow they have their usual October Saturday deal, where you buy one dozen doughnuts and get another dozen for $1, and anyone who wears a costume to a Krispy Kreme on Oct. 31 will get a free doughnut.

McAlister’s Deli

Join McAlister’s Rewards loyalty program and get a BOGO sandwich coupon that will be added to your account Nov. 3.

McDonald’s

Though technically this isn’t an election-related deal, from Nov. 3-9, customers can try the new Apple Fritter, a Blueberry Muffin, or a Cinnamon Roll for free with the purchase of any sized Premium Roast or Iced McCafé coffee. To redeem this freebie, place your McCafé coffee order on the McDonald’s app (any time of the day) and select one of the three new McCafé bakery items. The offer is available once per day, every day of the week at participating restaurants nationwide.

Pieology

From Nov. 1-3, locations across the United States will be offering an Election Day 2020 Bundle deal: Two 11 inch “Create Your Own” pizzas and a shareable dessert for $20.20.

Pizza to the Polls

Voters standing in long lines can snap a picture of the queue, send it here, and when possible, non-partisan non-profit Pizza to the Polls will have pizza and other snacks delivered.

Plus, they’re also bringing food trucks with free food to polling locations in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Gainesville, Atlanta, Louisville, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Minneapolis, Charlotte (NC), Raleigh, Greensboro (NC), Las Vegas, Reno, New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Charleston (SC), Nashville, Houston, Austin and Milwaukee on Election Day. Here’s their full schedule.
