You could pay for your coffee this Wednesday—but it’s National Coffee Day, so why would you? Loads of retail food chains are giving away freebies, and while some deals require an additional food purchase, most offer free coffee—especially if you order through their rewards apps. Here’s a look at how to quench that caffeine thirst for free in celebration of this most sacred of national deals “holidays”:

  • 7-Eleven will offer a hot coffee of any size, with the purchase of a fresh-baked good at participating 7-Eleven stores nationwide. Also, customers who order through the 7-Eleven app can receive a free hot coffee of any size, with any purchase.

  • Au Bon Pain is offering brewed drip coffee for $1 each at participating locations through Oct. 1.

  • Atlas Coffee Club is currently offering a free bag of coffee if ordered through their site (shipping not included), with code “COFFEEDAY2021,” through Oct. 2.

  • Berres Brothers Coffee Roasters is offering 29% off online orders with code “COFFEEDAY” through Sept. 30. They’re also running a sweepstakes for a year’s worth of coffee.

  • Circle K customers can receive a free cup of hot or iced coffee on Sept. 29 by texting “FREE” to the short code 31310 to receive a digital coupon for a free cup of coffee at participating Circle K stores.

  • Duck Donuts is offering a free medium cold brew or frappe coupon on its app. The coupon can be redeemed in-shop or online through Oct. 1.

  • Dunkin’ will offer a free medium hot or iced coffee through their app.

  • Dutch Bros Coffee has a contest where 100 customers will be randomly selected to win a free drink every day for a year, for purchases made either in-store or through the app.

  • Jack In the Box currently offers a free regular coffee and Jumbo Egg Roll if you use code “JUMBOROLL2021” in the company’s app.

  • Kahwa Coffee, a Florida-based chain, will give out free small coffees on Sept. 29.

  • QuickChek is offering a free 20-oz. hot or iced coffee on National Coffee Day, although you have to sign up for their rewards program and app.

  • Sheetz customers can receive a free self-serve coffee of any size on National Coffee Day when you order through their app.

  • Panera is giving out free coffees to parents or caregivers on National Coffee Day—you just have to tell a cashier at the time of purchase that you qualify.

  • Pilot Flying J will offer a free cup of coffee to any customers using the Pilot Flying J app at participating travel center locations.

  • Wawa is handing out a free coffee (of any size) to teachers and education administrators through all of September. Iced coffees not included and the deal is limited to one per customer.

  • Wendy’s will offer a free coffee with the purchase of a breakfast sandwich on National Coffee Day.
