If you don’t mind a few scratches and minor details, you can save a lot on these refurbished Amazon Kindle products, which are on sale at Woot! right now. Woot! is an Amazon extension that sells refurbished, returned, and surplus items for discounted prices, and if you’re already an Amazon Prime member, you get free standard shipping. The sale is running through Feb. 28, but certain models are already out of stock. Here’s what you can get.

Kindle Paperwhite (2015) - $20

This is the third generation of the Kindle Paperwhite line. You can buy it used on Amazon starting at $45, so this deal is over 50% off. I personally still own this model, and it has worked great through the years. I’ve since upgraded and passed this version to my partner, who still uses it every day. It’s not waterproof like the newer models, but it’s smaller, and the battery still lasts for weeks without a charge.

Amazon Kindle (2016) - $28

This is the eighth-generation Kindle and not in the market anymore—you can find it in secondhand markets for $50 to $120, so being able to get it for $28 is a steal and probably one of the last chances you’ll have to buy it from an official retailer (though, granted, it’s refurbished). This version has built-in Audible and the battery can last for four weeks without a charge.

Kindle Oasis (2016) - $80

This is an eighth-generation as well, but the Oasis version. Think of it as the more luxurious e-reader model—its best feature (not unique to just this model) is its free cellular connectivity, so you can browse the web without needing wifi. The battery life is notably worse than the rest, though—only a few hours.

Amazon Kindle (2019) with ads - $35

This is the Kindle Paperwhite 10th generation, which you can still buy on Amazon new for $75 right now (currently 50% 0ff). This version is waterproof and has more memory than the previous ones listed, with eight gigabytes (although it’s hard to fill even four gigabytes unless you plan to have audiobooks and comics). This is the “ad-supported” version, a fancy way of saying that the lock screen and some software inside will feature ads. Only the eight-gigabyte version for $35 is left. If you want a new-ish Kindle with the latest features, this is probably the best bang for your buck.

Kindle Oasis (2018) - $100 to $130

This is the Kindle Oasis ninth generation. The used version on Amazon goes for $145 right now, but you can buy the eight-gigabyte version for $100, or the 32-gigabyte version for $130. They’re all “ad-supported.” Like the other Oasis, it also has Bluetooth and audiobook capabilities, but this one can last weeks without needing a charge.

Amazon Fire Tablets

Amazon Fire Tablets are outdated and haven’t aged as well as the Kindle e-readers, but you can still use them to access streaming services, go online, and use the same apps. The price is low, just don’t expect them to compete with the newest models.

Keep in mind that while these items are used and may have cosmetic blemishes, you’re still covered by a 90-day limited warranty.
